New Bollywood Movie Review:
Rating: ⭐⭐ (2/5)
The Baaghi franchise played a huge role in establishing Tiger Shroff as the “action star” of today’s youth.
While the first Baaghi (2016) was a hit, Baaghi 2 (2018) turned out to be an even bigger success. But Baaghi 3 (2020), released during the Covid-19 pandemic, failed to recreate the same magic.
Now, five years later, Baaghi 4 hits the theatres—without much hype or fanfare. And perhaps that’s intentional, because this film really doesn’t give you much to look forward to.

Story
The story follows Ronnie (Tiger Shroff), a tough defense officer, who slips into a coma after a serious accident. Seven months later, he wakes up, only to be haunted by the memory of his love, Alisha (Harnaaz Sandhu), whom he lost in the accident.
But here’s the twist—Ronnie’s brother (Shreyas Talpade), the doctor, and everyone else around him insist that Alisha never existed. They claim she is nothing but a figment of his imagination.
In the meantime, a dancer, Olivia a.k.a. Pratishtha (Sonam Bajwa), enters Ronnie’s life, trying to fill the void.
Until the interval, the story keeps circling around one question—was Alisha ever real, or is Ronnie just hallucinating? And why is everyone so determined to prove him wrong?

Screenplay & Direction
The earlier Baaghi films stood out for their fast-paced narratives and explosive action. But Baaghi 4 is dragged down by a dull and confusing screenplay.
The first half focuses on Ronnie’s supposed hallucinations, while the second half suddenly shifts to a flashback of Sanjay Dutt’s character, Chako, and his love story—completely derailing the flow.
This time, producer Sajid Nadiadwala himself has taken on the writing duties, but it feels like he is more confused than his own protagonist.
Action & Music
Action has always been the USP of the Baaghi franchise. Unfortunately, this time even the action sequences lack the punch.
Post-Animal, masked goons being hacked with axes and machetes has become a common trope, and Baaghi 4 repeats the same formula without adding anything fresh.
Sanjay Dutt’s wedding scene looks like a direct copy of Bobby Deol’s wedding sequence, and the songs are no better. Harnaaz Sandhu’s “Yeh Mera Husn” is almost a replica of Deepika Padukone’s “Besharam Rang.”
Performances
-
Tiger Shroff: Still a weak actor, relying only on his action and “hero” image.
-
Harnaaz Sandhu: Decent debut, but her acting needs polishing.
-
Sonam Bajwa: Effective and convincing in her role.
-
Sanjay Dutt: Just about average, nothing memorable.
-
Shreyas Talpade: Underwhelming.
-
Upendra Limaye: Brings some relief in an otherwise dull narrative.
